European Tour announced for November 2026

In a year filled with The Gathering nostalgia, ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN looks ahead, unveiling a new solo EP ‘La Mort’, the second part of her triptych ‘La Vie, La Mort, L’Amour’.

ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN unveils her brand new EP “La Mort”. Recorded together with an 8-piece band the Dutch singer and songwriter continues the intimate emotional journey she started with last year’s “La Vie” on four heartfelt new tracks. Both EPs are part of the ongoing project “La Vie, La Mort, L’Amour”.

A special limited vinyl edition will be released for Record Store Day on April 18.

“I’m incredibly happy with how the second part of the trilogy turned out”, says Anneke. “This time, we developed my rough demos over the course of a single, uninterrupted week together with several members of my live band. That’s less common these days, but it really puts you in a shared bubble, and we recorded the bulk of the material during that time. In the weeks that followed, we added a few more parts, but tracks like ‘Red Sky’ and ‘Fade In Fade Out’ have definitely retained that live feel.”

In Fall of 2026 Anneke and her band will embark on a European Tour, presenting the new material live in concert. “In recent years I’ve performed abroad frequently, but this will be the first time in a decade that I’m heading outside the Netherlands with my eight-piece live band for a run of shows”, she explains. “I’m incredibly excited about it. We’ll be playing a selection of songs from my most recent releases, but audiences can also expect a series of highlights spanning my entire catalogue.”

The trilogy “La Vie, La Mort, L’Amour” traces an intimate emotional journey through love, loss, and grief, inspired by the passing of both of her parents within just two months of each other. “Not every song on ‘La Mort’ is literally about death, writing doesn’t follow rules like that, and I’m glad it doesn’t”, Anneke comments. “‘Sail Towards The Sun’, however, is about saying goodbye to my father. He once built his own seaworthy sailboat, and we spent many family holidays on the water. That memory lives very close to my heart.”
